Privacy Policy for HTML Table Maker

How we handle your data at htmltablemaker.com.

Your data, your control

We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, how we handle Google user data, and how you remain in control. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. See also our Terms of Service.

1. What we collect

1

Account details — email address, password hash (if you register with email), tier, and subscription status.

2

Uploaded and synced content — Excel files you upload and table data imported from Google Sheets you link.

3

Google Sign-In — when you sign in or register with Google, we receive basic profile information (typically your name, email address, and a Google account identifier) to create or access your account.

4

Google Sheets connection — if you connect Google Sheets, we store an encrypted OAuth refresh token and the scopes you authorized. We do not store your Google password.

5

API keys — hashed key values, names, and usage timestamps if you create keys for programmatic access.

6

Billing — Stripe customer and subscription identifiers when you subscribe to a paid tier.

7

Usage data — table view counts, sync logs, and technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) used for security, abuse prevention, and service operation.

2. How we use your data

We use your data to provide and improve the Service. This includes:

1

Generating, hosting, and serving interactive HTML tables from your Excel files or linked Google Sheets.

2

Allowing you to manage, share, embed, or delete your tables.

3

Authenticating you and maintaining your account, including Google Sign-In.

4

Processing subscriptions and sending essential account-related emails (for example, email confirmation and password reset).

5

Measuring site usage through analytics to understand how the Service is used and to improve it.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use Google user data for advertising.

3. Google Sign-In

If you choose "Sign in with Google" or "Sign up with Google," we use the information Google provides (typically your email and name) only to authenticate you and operate your HTML Table Maker account. We do not use Google Sign-In data for advertising or sell it to third parties.

4. Google Sheets and Drive (optional)

If you choose to connect Google Sheets, we request access using this scope only: drive.file (per-file access to spreadsheets you choose in Google Drive).

1

What we access — cell data from spreadsheets you explicitly choose in the Google file picker when linking a table. We do not browse your entire Google Drive.

2

How we use it — to import and periodically sync sheet data into your published HTML tables. Sync is one-way: Google Sheets → HTML Table Maker. We never write back to or modify your Google files.

3

How we store it — imported sheet data is stored as table rows in your account. OAuth refresh tokens are encrypted at rest before being saved in our database.

4

Sharing — we do not sell Google user data. We do not share it with advertisers. It is shared only with infrastructure providers that host and operate the Service on our behalf, under confidentiality obligations.

5

Limited Use — our use of Google user data is limited to providing and improving user-facing features of HTML Table Maker; we do not transfer it to third parties except as necessary to operate the Service (such as hosting); we do not use it for serving ads; and human access to Google user data occurs only with your consent, for security purposes, to comply with law, or as part of a merger/acquisition with notice.

6

Revocation — disconnect Google Sheets from Manage Account or My Tables, or revoke access at Google Account permissions.

7

Deletion — encrypted tokens are removed when you disconnect. Linked table data is deleted when you delete the table or your account.

5. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. As a registered user, you can:

1

Delete your tables at any time.

2

Close your account and remove associated data from Manage Account (Free tier).

3

Request a copy of the data we hold about you by emailing [email protected].

4

Lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you believe your data rights have been violated.

6. Data retention

We keep your account and table data for as long as your account is active. When you delete tables or your account, we remove the associated data from our production systems. Encrypted backups may retain data for a limited period before automatic deletion.

7. Data security

Your data is stored securely using industry best practices. Passwords are hashed, uploads are validated, Google OAuth refresh tokens are encrypted at rest, and we use HTTPS across the site.

8. Sharing and third parties

We do not sell or share your personal data with advertisers. We use trusted third-party services to operate the Service:

1

Stripe — payment processing for subscriptions.

2

SendGrid — transactional email (sent from [email protected]).

3

Google Analytics — aggregated site usage statistics.

4

Hosting and database providers — to store and serve the Service.

These providers process data on our behalf under appropriate contractual safeguards.

9. Cookies

HTML Table Maker uses essential cookies for login, security, and session management. We also use Google Analytics cookies to understand how visitors use the site. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by adjusting your browser cookie settings.

10. Uploading data responsibly

You must only upload Excel files or link Google Sheets that you have the right to use. Do not upload personal or sensitive information belonging to others unless you are authorized to do so.
