Google Sheets Live Sync
Connect a Google Sheet as the data source for a published table. When you edit the sheet, your embedded table updates automatically — no manual re-upload required.
Sync is one-way: Google Sheets → HTML Table Maker. We never write back to your spreadsheet.
Connect your Google account
From Manage Account or Connect Google Sheets, authorize access to spreadsheets you choose in Google Drive.
We request the drive.file scope only.
Create a table from a sheet
- Go to Excel to HTML Table and choose the Google Sheet tab.
- Click Choose Google Sheet and select the spreadsheet in Google's file picker.
- Pick the tab to import, then submit.
- Configure styling in the Table Editor and publish embed code as usual.
Link an existing table
On My Tables, expand Google Sheets on any Excel-backed table and use Choose Google Sheet. The sheet becomes the source of truth; use Sync now for an immediate refresh or Disconnect to return to manual Excel uploads.
How often tables update
Changes are detected via Google Drive push notifications, with tier-based polling as a fallback. Visitors see updates on the next page load after sync completes.

Standard row and column limits for your tier still apply on every sync.
Column and row changes
Adding or removing columns or rows in the sheet is supported. Renaming columns may reset per-column editor settings. If the sheet exceeds your tier row limit, sync pauses with an error until you upgrade or reduce data.
Agent API
AI agents can check connection status and sync or disconnect tables that are already linked in the browser. Linking a new sheet requires the account owner to use Choose Google Sheet on the website. See the Agent API.
Troubleshooting
- Access denied — Use Choose Google Sheet again and select the file to grant access.
- Reconnect required — Reconnect from Account after a permissions update.
- Sheet deleted — Disconnect and link a new sheet or re-upload Excel.
- Over row limit — Upgrade tier or reduce rows in the sheet.
- Delayed updates — Use Sync now on My Tables; watch channels renew automatically every few days.
Security
Refresh tokens are encrypted at rest. We only read sheet data from files you choose; we do not modify your Google files.
